The Contractor Yard Acquires Building Materials Wholesale/Retail
 
Charlotte, NC (July 17, 2006) - The Contractor Yard, Inc., a major supplier of high-quality building materials to professional builders and contractors in the southeastern United States, announced today that it has finalized the purchase of Building Materials Wholesale/Retail, Inc. (BMW), a full-service supplier of drywall and related products. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, BMW operates five yards located in Charlotte, Greensboro, Statesville, Wilmington and Fayetteville.

"The acquisition of Building Materials Wholesale/Retail enhances The Contractor Yard's product line and further strengthens our presence in the very attractive Carolinas market." said Contractor Yard President & COO Buddy Ables. "This acquisition is another important step toward achieving our aggressive growth objectives in this high-potential area."

Headquartered in Charlotte, The Contractor Yard is a subsidiary of the Strober Organization. Currently, The Contractor Yard has more than 40 locations operating in 10 states primarily in the southeastern United States. As part of both Strober and ProBuild Holdings, Inc., which is the largest professional building products distribution organization in the United States, The Contractor Yard plans to actively seek opportunities to grow both organically and through additional acquisitions.

Following the acquisition, Building Materials Wholesale/Retail will begin doing business as The Contractor Yard - Building Materials Wholesale Division. Dave Walsh and Will Dealy, owners and managing partners of Building Materials Wholesale/Retail, will remain with the company.
