| The Strober Organization To Increase Manufacturing Capacity With New Operation In Nichols, SC |

| Purchase Is Step One Of Strober's Aggressive Growth Plan |

Nichols, SC (June 7, 2006) - The Strober Organization, one of the nation's largest providers of building materials to professional contractors, announced today that it purchased land and facilities for the establishment of a new 377,000 square-foot manufacturing operation in Nichols, SC. U.S. Components, Inc., Strober's manufacturing division, made the purchase and expects the plant to come online in early 2007. Over the next three years, the project is expected to introduce 160 new jobs to the area and represents an approximately $3M capital investment in (eastern) South Carolina.
The new facility, which will utilize state-of-the-art, precision laser assembly setup and computerized sawing technology, will provide roof and floor trusses as well as wall panels to the North and South Carolina locations of The Contractor Yard, Strober's building materials supply division in the southeastern United States.
"The Nichols facility is the first step of a very aggressive plan to expand the manufacturing capacity in all of the markets we serve," states Fredrick M. Marino, chairman and CEO of the Strober Organization. "Increasing our component capacity in the Carolinas allows us to provide our builder partners there with integrated solutions and further solidifies the leadership position of our Contractor Yard locations in these high-growth housing markets. We expect to announce additional sites for manufacturing in Virginia and the Carolinas later this year."
"The manufacturing capacity in Nichols will provide the Contractor Yard's customers with 'one-stop shopping' and high-level technical and design support services," states Dave Walstad, president of U.S. Components. "As the builder market continues to consolidate, these services are becoming more and more important. Moving forward, U.S. Components will look to continue its expansion through acquisitions as well as start-up operations so that we can seamlessly provide truss and wall panel products to all of Strober's building supply locations."
